... Strength, passion, and the cleansing fire of joy: olive blossom, white nectarine, vibrant blood orange, honey absolute, lemongrass, elemi, sensual patchouli, and the quiet purity of gardenia.

2017

It smells fruity in the imp. When I put it on, the olive blossom seems to come forward, but it soon turns into a honey-incense. I can't find the patchouli at all, which is too bad -- I was hoping it'd keep the scent grounded and give it more staying power. Generally, I'm leery of anything that has the word "honey" anywhere near the description, since the honey note always takes over on me, but I figured everything else would even it out. Sure enough, after an hour or so it's just plain honey and almost gone. It's still lovely while it lasts, though.

Wet: Fresh and lush. Pretty, but not overly feminine.

Drydown: Complex greenery, slightly sweet, slightly earthy. I can pick up the honey note in the throw more-so than at the skin. It's sexy without being sexual, if that makes sense.

Dry: Soft gardenia sits at the core of the scent, keeping it feeling clean and lush. A soft, warm, fresh, complex sort of scent. Very well-blended.

An orangy spicy blend, somewhat tropical. The patchouli gives this a delicious gritty base, while the other notes mix and match SO well into this almost-edible, red and orange mix of fruity and floral.

I get: herbs and fruit, very nearly gender neutral. The lemongrass is aromatic and just slightly astringent. I only get the slightest hint of honey, but I am glad for its sweetness all the same. Thankfully, the patchouli is just barely detectable. There is something ecclesiastical about this scent, dignified without being melancholy. Not my usual aesthetic, but definitely pleasing all the same.
