marared Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Red musk, patchouli, pomegranate, red currant, bourbon vanilla, nutmeg, sweet orange. In the bottle: whoa red musk. While slathering: whoa sweet orange. Now that it's been sitting on me for a while? Orange and patchouli. So very lovely...
Poenari Report post Posted November 17, 2011 How is it possible that I have never reviewed this?! I adore red musk scents, and Luxuria is a staple in my collection and in heavy rotation. I keep a bottle in use (almost finished now) and a bottle aging in the closet. It layers so beautifully as an after-shower moisturizer with about half of my BPAL collection. Basically, it's Madame Moriarty in a bottle. Absolutely perfect if you love Red Moon '07, Lust, Smut, Infernal Lover, or any of the other fabulous red musk scents. I hope that this stays in the catalog forever!
fireweaver Report post Posted March 11, 2012 Using this as a moisturizer,it started off strong on the patchouli, with the red musk a close second then following up with the orange. I didn't get much nutmeg or vanilla at first, but then dried down to the dry down of madame moriarty, which is heaven on earth and a mix of red musk, fruit and vanilla. HerbGirl Report post Posted May 14, 2012 Orange, Red Musk, Pom and Patchouli. I could swim in this bath oil! I could honestly use this every day and wear a different Patchouli oil over it. As a moisturizer, I smell the Orange, Patchouli and Pom the most and in the bath I get more of the Red Musk than Patchouli. This is divine - reminds me quite a bit of Mme. Moriarty which I also LOVE. ReallyZeb Report post Posted May 30, 2012 Orange, Red Musk, Pom and Patchouli. Oops, I read this as orange, red musk, porn and patchouli ... and it seemed a fair description too I tried this in the bath - the main fragrance I get is a rich, slightly bitter orange, like a high quality marmalade, which is rather lovely but probably better when its cold outside rather than in summer. On my skin afterwards I get far more of the red musk and patchouli so this will layer really well under many of my autumn and winter favourites.
Beckiemort Report post Posted January 29, 2013 Scent: brighter than I thought it would be. It's very fruity on my skin especially fresh out of the bottle. As it sits on the skin the red musk appears and it feels more vice like. The vanilla emerges as well and the fruits receed to the background. The scent is very beautiful in all phases but I particularly like it a few hours after I have used it when it is a sweetened vanilla red musk with a whisper of dark fruits. Keep in mind I have only used this straight out of the bath as a moisturizer so I don't know if it would react differently if used as a bath oil, but it smells awesome. As for moisturizing it certainly does a great job! My scaly if left unmoisturized legs are super smooth and not itchy at all and my hands feel great. It soaks in super quick but leaves the skin happy but not greasy - I was on the iPad within a couple of minutes after application and it didn't make the screen gross. kashmira Report post Posted March 16, 2013 In the bottle I smell my much loved red musk, with a hint of orange and patchouli. I'm in heaven. But this scent does different things depending on whether I'm in the bath or after the shower. In the bath: red musk, hints of other things, but mostly red musk. After the bath, I mostly have red musk solo, with the patchouli, orange, pomegranate, currant and vanilla singing a beautiful chorus on me. The bathroom smells divine and so do I, apres bath. After a shower, though, I get a completely different reaction: Using this oil as a post shower moisturizer, all I get is The Mighty Patchouli. It seems to amp on my body to high heaven, beating red musk into utter submission. The orange decides to tag team with Patchouli, so in the end all I get is OrangePatch Wham! The currant, pomegranate and vanilla decide to stay away entirely. I think I will stick to using this oil in the bath.
Lucchesa Report post Posted August 13, 2020 I have about one application left in my decant, so I'd better review Luxuria. Obviously I'm enjoying it. I use it as an after-shower moisturizer, not in the bath. Luxuria is a very fruity red musk, bolstered by the red fruits, the sweet orange and the vanilla. The nutmeg gives it just a zing of spice, and the patchouli is definitely in the background. This doesn't read as a killer sex bomb on me but rather as something more fruity and playful. It's an excellent late summer scent and pairs well with anything in the red fruit/fruity red musk family.
