donnatron Report post Posted February 22, 2008 (edited) A houdoun recipe dating back almost 150 years. This blend is favored by prostitutes, exotic dancers and others in the sex industry for its power to attract, seduce, and enthrall. Ensures financial gain and increased profits. Imp: Dragon's blood dissolved in rubbing alcohol. Is there dragon's blood in here? It could be jasmine but I'm getting that distinctive cherry nuance of the DB.Wet: A sort of fruity cherry spiciness. Smells a lot better on my wrist than in the imp.Dry: I get a sweet cherry flavoured candy smell with some florals in the background. It's soft and pleasant and smells... innocent. This isn't a knock-you-down-and-drag-you-to-the-bedroom scent. It's more of a batting eyelashes and twirling hair fragrance.Throw: Mild. My skin ate it pretty quickly.Overall: Nice. I think this is a very cozy scent. It doesn't make me feel seductive, it just makes me want to curl up on the couch with the boy and cuddle and drink tea.Eta: In retrospect, my first imp came from a suspect imp lot where several of the imps were not in there original state. I have a bottle of this and it is just divine. Sweet dragon's blood with a jasmine haze and a little rose and perhaps lily. It's one of my favourite summer perfumes and it ages divinely. I can't substantiate that it brings boys and/or fortune to me, but it makes me feel pretty and that's got to count for something Edited July 20, 2011 by paperrose
alsatia Report post Posted March 5, 2008 Expectations: I have no idea (and would not have actively chosen a scent with no idea of what notes it contains), but I imagine it being musky and boozy. In vial: Sweaty lemons. On skin, wet: Lemon and a bit of jasmine. On skin, dry: Chemical lemon and florals. A not-very-pleasant rendition of the toilet paper holder scent. After time: It's only been a few minutes but I'm really not liking this enough to care what happens with it. The lemon has gotten stronger (but slightly less chemical). Still seems a bit musky and dirty. Throw range is moderate. Conclusion: I'll pass on this one. And if there's a boy who would follow this scent, I'm not sure I'd want him to follow me. Honeygirl Report post Posted March 12, 2008 Bottle: Warm lemon Wet: Warm and sunny lemon and sexy vanilla and slutty honey. Interesting combo. Drydown: It's very earthy to me, perhaps because the three scents I get in the wet stage are from the ground in one way or another, but it's also a bit animalistic. I like it a lot and hope it works, as dh and I have been stuck in a rut! 3.0 outta
voodoocatwoman Report post Posted April 1, 2008 I put this on before coming in to work this morning, not realizing what it is... *snortle* In the imp: Lemon with a hint of musk Wet: Lemon fades and the musk (I assume civet?) is coming to the fore. Dry: This is warm and beautiful. It's been a long time since I have worn civet and it still loves me. Yum. I love it right back.
djsiberia Report post Posted April 19, 2008 in the imp it smells sour and like smelly cheese. i don't smell any lemon i'm scared to try this just because all i'm getting is this off smell like poo
Kippy Report post Posted April 19, 2008 At drydown, this scent seemed to have two distinct layers. There is a jasmine asserting itself on the top, and a musky soapy thing going on at the bottom. I liked, but then, two hours after application, the jasmine is gone and it is pure bug spray.
VioletChaos Report post Posted April 24, 2008 in the imp: indian jasmine- dark, thick and heady. wet on skin: same, but a little more mellow. dry down: the jasmine is still there, but now it's gotten soft and powdery. in all: a very feminine scent, i can see how this would be popular with ladies of the evening. it's a bit too femme-ie for me, however. butterflysedai Report post Posted May 23, 2008 I can't find it on the site- has it been discontinued! *sniffs* This is also the first time to read the reviews on it, and my nose must be way broken. I smell no lemon at all; in fact, I always thought of flowers (maybe jasmine and rose) with a nice baby powder smell behind it.
Imptress Report post Posted June 14, 2008 I get no lemon, either, so I'm surprised to see that mentioned so often in the reviews. However, my imp is nicely aged and I honestly can't remember what I thought when I first sniffed it. Anyway, I rooted through one of my imp cases yesterday and came up with this. The imp was practically full, too, so I may not have ever actually worn this before-- probably just swiped it on my wrist. At any rate, this reminds me a lot of Snake Oil-- for me, it's got that rich, rounded, almost-vanilla-but-not-quite thing going on with some hint of spice. I definitely felt sexy wearing it, and a coworker commented every time she came into my cubicle yesterday about how good I smelled which is ALWAYS a confidence booster! I'll be pulling this imp out again, soon, and will put this on my big-bottle list. So far, I love all of the "voo doo" oils I've tried!
Countessa1014 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 In the vial: A bit too sweet, sort of an underlying medicine-y scent. Wet: Glad I tried it out anyway, sort of a lemony sugar cookie smell to it. Not quite what I was expecting but very nice. Dry: This one really seems to like my skin! Still has the lemony sugar smell, but with an underlying musk that's quite appealing. I kept sniffing my wrist throughout the day. One of my first BPAL purchases and still a favorite!
Enferdame Report post Posted July 13, 2008 I can’t pick out individual notes worth anything, but in the bottle it smells like something my mom would wear, definitely perfumey, warm and lemony. On me it gets spicy and musky with the lemon. Lemony pinesol, sort of, but that seems to be just a hint underneath the warmth. definitely something I would define as sexy, though I question whether it’s my kind of sexy. This is a dangerous maneater scent, and I’m definitely not that right now. For those interested, it didn't seem to do a lot as far as attracting men are concerned, but I'd like to make an attempt when my pheremones aren't so off-putting
Coldfire Report post Posted July 18, 2008 This was a partial bottle included in a newbie imp pack I got. Bottle: Spicey dark. Dragon's Blood? Wet on Me: Jasmine? Incense? Drying Down: Jasmine incense now Dry: Jasmine incense still but mostly jasmine. This is interesting. Not sure in what context I might be wanting to use this for. modillian Report post Posted September 6, 2008 I so wanted to get lemon poundcake and jasmine! Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance in hell. In the bottle: chemical-y sweet! Wet on skin: chemically sweet! Rose and chemicals. I am desperately hoping this morphs well. Dry on skin: ...okay then. Overpowering rose, chemicals, and something else heady and headachy. I am not pleased. >:| Why is it all these traditionally "supersexy seductress of dreams!" blends turn out so badly on me? At least it's not lik Maenid which turned into vomit. :[ Okay, after an hour it turns to roses, some lotus, and something spicy, but still way out of my league. Ugh, get it offa meeeee. ouch! Report post Posted September 12, 2008 This is Gardenia & Jasmine. It reminds me a hell of alot of Euphrosyne. For some reason when I wear this (As well as when I wore Euphrosyne). I feel something...it's weird..it makes me feel content. And confident. It's strange because I am a boy, but I'll try ANYTHING when it comes to perfume. And..this one is doin someting to my emotions. It's only the second time it's happened!! Anyway..it's quite strong and has alot of throw, I'm mainly getting Jasmine and Gardenia as mentioned above. However when this dries it truns into such a beautiful blend I'm lost for words. It goes very feathery soft and sweet, almost like vanilla which is why I referenced Euphrosyne. That was heavy on the vanilla. This is a slighty less sweet version of that. And it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm actually attracted to myself right now! I really really want a bottle of this, I think this is extra special because of the amount of lasting power and throw it has. Hopefully you girlies will have men following you around like puppy dogs when you wear this..I hope I do!! LMAO!
DarthArwen Report post Posted September 15, 2008 Got this a while ago and it's been sitting in the sell/swap box about as long... My notes say 'Subtle as a rino. Reminds of old bathroom freshener. Not my thing.' I've retested it (very very gingerly, on my ankle) for the purposes of this review.. and I can't say that I feel different. The bathroom freshener association has disappeared, and instead I'm getting a whiff of a scent I can only define as 'nappies'. I've caught that in the odd other oil and wonder which notes, or combination of them, bring that out. In any case, Follow Me Boy will stay in the sell/swap box.. hespera4523 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Flowers and dirt. Specifically, jasmine and gardenia and dirt. I like it, and I am not a floral person in the leastaways. I was hoping for lemon and jasmine and clove, the impossible reincarnation of a fave discontinued scent from the body shop, but no such luck. Can't smell anything remotely like a lemon in this bad boy. Still and all, I am finding that the Conjure bag scents do have their own mojo. I went out wearing this oil and within a few minutes I was feeling like sex on a stick, not something that happens everyday, and sure enough had some serious interest from the opposite sex going on. Again, as with Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo I'm not sure if its the design of the blend or if its a placebo effect with me believing it works, and to be frank I don't care. Either way it works, I'm just glad it does!
jizatt Report post Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) Dragon's Blood is my immediate sniff. Maybe something lemony in with it. I can also see the jasmine comparisons, although that might be the DB. (edit: as this dries, I smell a distinct, sharp floral that I don't like. I think its violet, but its mixed with the DB and I can't tell exactly) Edited October 13, 2008 by CaudaPavonis
Champagne Report post Posted October 23, 2008 Jasmine of doom and nothing else for me. A FULL jasmine garden in a nuclear bloom, if you know what I mean. Amazingly, I hate jasmine but this put a smile in my face. I doubt I`ll be able to go out with it without layering with something else. I can`t decide if I like it or not. zankoku_zen Report post Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) GAH! Dragon's blood resin .... and jasmine and gardenia. Wow. This is like a scent of doom. .... Yeah, so not for me. Edited November 5, 2008 by zankoku_zen
sunflowereyes Report post Posted November 6, 2008 I adore the color of this oil...such a robust, rich pinky-red . That being said, when first swiped across my wrist it REEKS of bug spray!! Blech. After a few minutes, however, it begins to settle down in a rounded , rosy-jasmine scent with a hint of sweet musky powder. I quite like the end result, even if it means having to grit thru the bug spray phase. Have not tested its voodoo properties in awhile. I think I wore this once bartending at a concert & def got hit on.....but I always get hit on when working... I think I'll keep my imp.
ImperatrixMundi Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Rose, gardenia and jasmine. Whoa. So sickly sweet and intense as hell! I dabbed on the TINYEST little dab on my wrist and could not hold my arm far enough away from me! And it just refused to wash off and die! My clothes smelled until I put them in the laundry. Ugh. Not actually a bad scent but WAY overwhelming! Probably the strongest BPAL I ever tested, it even beats fresh Urd. Cant imagine what would have happend had I slathered it on. I'd still be smelling a week later. Maybe I simply have no need for good fortune in the ummm... escort business?
Mamacat Report post Posted November 16, 2008 When I wear Follow Me Boy I get mostly a soft jasmine, some rose with a hint of vanilla and dragon's blood. I like it which surprises me! It's not something I would choose as a fragrance but I could always use financial gain and increased profits!
bettybaker Report post Posted November 28, 2008 Skin musk, shortbread, and roses; this is my favorite BPAL, and I have, um, a lot. Jack has been supplanted; Follow Me Boy's my signature scent from here on out. It's long lasting and a wee bit strong, but ummmph. The psychological effects are awesome, and the smell is gorgeous, pretty durned.
acidrica Report post Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) On my skin? Bug spray. I got this as a frimp, so I'm happy my judgment isn't to blame. After a little while it starts to smell like an actual perfume oil. There's lemon in this. And musk. But not enough musk to make this work on me. Too....cloying. And it gives me a headache. I couldn't scrub this off fast enough. Edited December 28, 2008 by Acid
Lamia Report post Posted March 4, 2009 This reminds me of White Magick craft stores. It's a strong yet soft floral, with a touch of bitter acridity in the back of the throat.
