CathedralOfRoses Report post Posted April 13, 2021 This one was nice, until it wasn't. It started out as a realistic rose scent but quickly turned into house paint or vinyl, both in the bottle and on the skin. My mother also got the same impression, so that's disappointing. I notice the same thing with The Rose a little bit, but not nearly as much. This one wasn't my perfect rose blend, unfortunately.
alyelle Report post Posted January 31, 2022 In the imp: Snow-covered roses. Wet: Hard greenwood stems with a slow ooze of sap, melting snowflakes, and barely-open red rosebuds. Dry: A blink-and-you'll-miss-it dewy rose; perfectly red, perfectly soft. Mild throw, with barely a 3 hour lifespan on me. Stars: ★★★★
dancingchair Report post Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) 2021 version This really does smell like a freshly cut rose! There is an element of it that could veer into vinyl or chemical territory, but so far it's behaving on my skin. As it dries, the rose deepens on me, becoming even more red and lush. It's very juicy, bordering on a crisp apple scent. I also get a very green element, like the freshly cut stem. This is nice and a realistic interpretation but I don't need more than a decant. Llanval Report post Posted February 17, 2022 2021 version This is honestly somehow a whole rose bush, freshly dew-kissed and root-y, crammed into an imp. Literally perfect. Just a hint a kiss of lemongrass to liven it up. A genuine rose that lingers and unfurls as if you're walking deeper and deeper into a florist case filled wall to wall with the most perfect, freshly cut roses on earth. This is the best true-to-life bpal rose I've tried so far, but I don't need more than an imp. I think I like the idea of roses more than actually wearing them, lol. crystaltongue Report post Posted February 3, 2023 Rose red is pure magic. I have an imp of 2007, and a bottle of 2022, and both read about the same on me - the most perfect blood red rose, growing wild rather than in a hot house, with just the barest hint of snow. It is very green when first applied, but in moments the rose blooms on my skin. The only difference between the two versions seems to be how long it lasts on me - 2007 will last 4 to 6 hours, but 2022 seems to go 8 to 9. Mind, rose always seems to amp on my, so your mileage may vary, but for me Rose Red is a winner. For a fun experiment - try layering with snow white, and smell like an entire fairytale. HerbGirl Report post Posted February 12, 2023 2022 version- just beautiful. A bright, florist refrigerator realistic rose. I believe this is the rose used in blends with dead leaves... I layered it with October and it is just *chef's kiss*.
WoolyBee Report post Posted March 27, 2023 This smells of red, icy roses. The ice notes are kind of like a minty fresh gum, but without the mint. I had no clue what a chilled rose would smell like, but it smells exactly like this. It’s nice, but I don’t think it’s my thing. I am just now starting to experiment with rose notes and I think I like mine deepened with darker notes like patch or incense or wood. Or amped with other florals. Orrrr paired with something green and fresh. But that’s just a personal preference. I’m glad I finally tried rose red, after all these years.
