artisjok Report post Posted March 31, 2020 A woody, musky-weird base glooping over with blackberry preserves, a twist of mandarin, strawberry juice, pulverized watermelon, and a handful of smushed gardenia petals.  Today, I’m testing GC scents that I’ve been hesitant to try...  Tis the Voice of the Lobster is primarily watermelon candy, with a mature base of musk, kind of spiced or woodsy... I think I get a bit of the flower and some strawberry, too. It’s actually not for bad for a while, but then the drydown gets tart and more candy-like and the mature base is lost to that fruity powder candy scent and it’s no longer something I want to smell like  If you like really fruity, complex smells, this one is probably awesome! I like there to be only one fruit, usually, and to be more realistic and paired with resins or woods or simply sugar.
grapes Report post Posted January 9, 2021 Sweet fruits over a gently woody base with a slight floral tinge from the gardenia. I find it quite well-balanced between the fruity, woody and floral notes. Reminds me of a fruity-floral celebrity type fragrance, but with that BPAL edge. If you were trying to convert a friend who likes mainstream perfumes to the delights of indie oils, this would be a good place to start.
Honey Report post Posted May 18, 2021 Wet on, this is of similar quality to Plastic Pink Flamingo. While PPF is sweet sugar with red fruit, flower petals and resinous sap, TTVOTL is fruit-forward with a hard candy quality, a soft floral undertone and woodsy elements that work in a similar fashion than the sap. The blend is very bright, summery and feels coral red in color. The watermelon is very prominent, but there is also berries in the background. It's not a naturalistic smell, however, no fresh or green stem notes - at least one me, it's pure candy. The musk is not that noticeable, it rather gives this a perfumey quality so it's not just hard candy that's been licked and slathered on your wrists.  The scent becomes very faint after drydown. I do detect a soapy watermelon (a bit floral, a bit musky), but that's pretty much it. Fun and different but nothing I'd actually wear.
Rane. Report post Posted August 9, 2021 Obtained in 2018. Almost empty. 😠Was one of the first orders I place I believe. Smells delightfully fruity & fun! But you know what my favorite notes in this are? The blackberry, sage, & watermelon combo. It gives the fruit notes a deeper & grounded scent. I get slight gardenia, & strawberry in this too, but like I said, the star for me is blackberry, sage, & watermelon trio. One of those scents you shouldn't pass up. It's totally unisex to me, but I get young girly vibes from this.
