BPAL Madness!

The Transeo are vampires that have assimilated into human society, often reaching positions of power. Among the Transeo there are many celebrated politicians, scientists, businessmen, philosophers, artists, writers, and musicians, and, surprisingly, a large number of influential clergy and militarists. Not every Transeo is an illustrious public figure; many simply desire the comforts associated with reentering society. In the past, most Transeo posed as humans as best they could, concealing their true natures. In the twenty-first century, more and more Transeo are coming out in the open, and they form the backbone of most vampire-acceptance movements.

GA cologne that (almost) blends well into human society: benzoin, orange blossom, cumin, King mandarin, gaiac wood, juniper berry, Calabrian bergamot, Ceylon cinnamon, and blood camouflaged by wine.

Wet: this smells more like dried roses to me, with a hint a blood. This does smell kinda antiquey and old.

Drydown: sweet, dried roses. The weird tang in the background is there. I can't pinpoint any one scent. This is interesting, but not for me.

Transeo is much more floral on me than I expected. Orange blossom and wine are the two most identifiable notes for me, and they are both problematic on my skin. So instead of the spicy woods and citrus with a little bloody wine I was hoping for, it's more blossoms and red wine and everything else is muted. This is a skin chemistry fail on me.

Transeo is bright, fruity, and sort of Christmasy to my nose.  It's pleasant enough, but not something I'd wear.

I get fruity roses at first, but then a soapy evergreen starts to take over from the juniper, and this becomes more fresh and masculine leaning.  I don't get much wine, unless it's the fruity splash at the beginning.  I don't get any overbearing cinnamon either, or any cumin, which is a rarely found note I really like.  😕  I think I can smell tinges of the manderin, but they are very much there adding brightness to things rather than being fruity.

As this dries down, I get a bit of swampy sourness that unfortunately happens to me with some of the lab's rose blends, so.... yeah.  Rose, I know you're in there.  You can't hide.  🤨

Ok, now the soapiness is evening out a bit with the other notes.  It's still there, but I'm getting some complexity from the other notes.  There's something warm and slightly spicy lurking behind this scent.

Transeo is ... ok...  It doesn't smell like air freshener, or soap, or cleaner or anything cheap to me, but I don't really care for it.  That said, this isn't a fragrance I would ever have picked up based on the notes, so if you like juniper and roses - give it a go.  It's got an evergreen vibe to it without the typical forest smell.  I'd say it's unisex.

This was a generous frimp from VV.  Transeo strikes me as a lighter, less rich counterpart to Blood Rose, which is not what I was expecting from it at all.  It's not necessarily a bad thing.

It pops off with a crackle of orange and something I can't put my finger on (might be the orange blossom), which immediately vanishes into the ether and is replaced by wine and roses.  Unlike Blood Rose, this lacks the thick sweetness (and oil color) I would expect from something containing dragon's blood.

When you think about it as "a vampire trying to blend into human society" it does kind of make sense for it to smell like "not quite blood rose" or "blood rose covered up with something else."

That said, I already have and love Blood Rose - but I would recommend this to anyone who found Blood Rose too rich or sweet but otherwise enjoys it.

Wet from the bottle, I pick up an antique rose untouched by dust. An elegant grandmother who used to be known as "duchess" before more sensible times. This is most likely in fact the orange blossom doing its magic with the myriad of fun notes here in Transeo. The slightest bit of cumin. A lingering dream of juniper. A warm yet refreshing bergamot. And behind it all.., blood & wine.

I don't get any cinnamon from this, & also do not know what benzoin & gaiac wood smell like as single notes; therefore I cannot speak for their presence or lack thereof.

I like this. It's complex but homey in a way. It's comfortable in that way that you have that one favorite tea that you can always count on to make you happy. It's sweater weather in a slightly masculine way. Winner!
