Bard

Well hello! Here is another great RPG frimp from the Lab, awesome. I have Bard's Song stuck in my head since last night, so let's do this! Wow, slightly fruity warm honeylike sweetness, but what's this? It's not cloying and powdery Eau de 'DOOM? -looks again at notes- A ridiculously charismatic blend of bay rum, honey, and white musk mingling with the scent of harp wood and lute strings and the twang of horn brass.

Uhhhh, I guess all that makes sense? Bay rum doesn't come across as boozy to me, it is more of a creamy allllmost cognac like vibe. So think smooth, warmth, slightly sweet, with warm wood grounding it slightly. If I fetch for it there might be a slightly metallic note in there. Ohh! You know what this reminds me of wafting next to Vial of Holy Water? LIZ! A warmer, cuddlier Liz. Slightly traditional perfume/cologne, yet sweet and slightly metallic. Sherlock Holmes would probably enjoy this, or maybe The Woman? ;) It's similar to Light of Mens Lives, also, but not smoky in any way,

Dang I wasn't expecting to like this, but it's gorgeous.

Received as an imp. I don't have much to say about this, except it's definitely a manly scent. I'm picking up on the honey & wood. The bay rum is very gentle in this.

Wow, I actually like this a great deal. I could have sworn vanilla would be one of the notes. I'm guessing the hint of spice from the bay rum mixed with the sweetness of the honey and the creaminess of the white musk is what's giving me those vanilla vibes. This would be a great summer scent for me, I think. I'm going to save my imp of unknown age for that purpose!

Wet: Sweet, golden, and gleaming, a tad herbal and a tad metallic—a warm, non-sharp metallic specifically.

Drydown/Dry: Honey-sweet and yummy with hints of metal and wood and something rosin-like mixed in. It's an interesting combination of delicious and ruggedly tactile. This would be great layered with one of the Steamworks blends.

8 out of 10 bones

Oh man this is so much sweeter than what i expected, going off from the name alone! It's pretty sharp and strong when wet, able to pick out all the notes no biggie.

I'm only vaguely getting the metallic note that others are describing so far. It's a squishy soft blend of creamy white spicy clouds, grounded by sappy wood.

However on drydown it goed a liiiittle darker and then my skin eats the sweeter notes, aw. Still nice- the wood, bay rum and spicyness are now very soft but still there. Lovely!

~~frimp review~~

I don't ever play bard, but this scent is being very nice to me. fresh on, it smells very pleasantly (but not intensely) musky. I really smell the rum, which is fantastic, and it is definitely beachy. I smell the beach in sand and coconut, as well as a sweet vanilla with wood in the background (and a twinge of the brass mentioned?).

after a bit it gets muskier and less sweet. the dominant notes now are the rum and wood.

overall it is very beachy on me in a good way. the musk and rum and yummy together and it teeters on the edge of cologne. nat 20 for this one

Oh wow, this one goes incredibly sweet on me. It's all a big punch of vanilla and butter, and never seems to pick up any of the florals and musks on my skin. All I can envision is cupcakes, cupcakes, buttercream frosting, and more cupcakes.

I'm sure it's lovely on the right person - but for me, it's just making my teeth hurt from all the sweetness.
