Lycanthrope Report post Posted December 8, 2012 Rain-lashed stone and fading summer flowers. This is pretty awesome. In summary, this smells like a damp, misty park in the morning, and sidewalk.Starts off strong on the stone note, which may be a bit off-putting, a very small hint of gravel and something akin to Maoi, that pumice note, but then gets a hint of brighter, stemmier/sappier florals. I think it may be a bit of dandelion and daisy. The overall effect is of a pleasant environmental aroma, without too much grit or dirt.Over time, the entire scent smoothens. Faint throw, but very unique.ETA: Several hours later, this is a sweet floral, akin to the drydown in Villainess's Jade, which is pretty awesome.
surlygurl Report post Posted January 3, 2013 In the decant, this smells like some Indian incense from an import shop in a funky college town. On my skin, it starts to glow with that cedar (I think) warmth. I'm wondering where the stone is, because I'm getting incense. If I sniff up close I can get a hint of flowers underneath. Then it hits me: this smells like 'india temple' incense. Once this whole thing dries down, it fades almost to nothing. But if I come in close, there it is - stone. Fading flowers. Quiet dreams (ok, I made that up). It is very nice, but I'm not sure I can live thru the india temple incense phase.
Monday Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Wet stones and flowers, yep just as it says in the description. Ends up a bit soapy on my skin.
ReallyZeb Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Wet on my skin it is rain drenched flowers, drying down to the smell of wet stone with a very faint floral, like sniffing a small pool of water left by the damp flowers when they were placed on the stone. I'm not sure that makes any sense, but it's beautiful and I need a bottle.
milo Report post Posted January 12, 2013 There's that stone note that I love so much in Night's Bridge, but here it is overpowering and aggressive. Somewhat like Phoenix in Summer, so I'm wondering if there is some kind of musk. I'm also getting leather, but it certainly isn't adding to the blend. It smells like dirty wet sidewalk on a hot day with faded flowers ground into the cracks. I may have to wash this one off.
zankoku_zen Report post Posted January 15, 2013 Strong aquatic note (ozone tinges), strong "stone" notes, and hints of white flowers.... And it sort of smells like laundry detergent. You know the "fresh water" kind.
Little Bird Report post Posted January 22, 2013 This sounded awesome. Unfortunately, like most of bpal's aquatics and ozones, it just smells like laundry soap to me
mymymai Report post Posted July 31, 2013 ITB: Glade-reminiscent "rain" scent, although it is rather artificial, paired with light florals and something that seems a little off, like quince. Wet: The flowers are a little stronger still and the rain scent is still a bit fake, but the off note I was smelling earlier isn't nearly as prevalent. Dry: Sadly, it dries down to smell like fabric softener dryer sheets.
d0gbones Report post Posted July 8, 2015 In the imp: Strong meadow flowers. Wet: Same. Dry: The flowers are much fainter now and the stone note has come out. They're wonderfully balanced, to me it really does remind me of an old, stone house standing in a meadow. The whole Turn Of The Screw series is a win for me, and I'm glad because it's one of my favourite stories.
