Feed Me and Fill Me With Pleasure

Recommended Posts

Black patchouli, honey, and thick vanilla amber.

I dunno. it's amazing on paper but bitter and tannin-y on my skin. with lovely honey over top. it's not different enough from occupy wallstreet to me.

This scent was very simple on my skin. In the bottle I smelled a light amber scent which was kinda powdery. On my skin wet it had a little bit of patchouli come out with the amber. It was really light though. I could barely smell it. I did a pretty heavy test too. When it dried down I smelled just powdery amber and light patchouli. This was a fail all around I guess. It had little to no throw and barely any staying power. :(

Wet: Mmm. The patch in this is the drier, woody variety. Beautifully rich and sweet, a little spicy. Really really nice.

Dry: This was promising, but goes a little bit weird on me. There's a weird, slightly unpleasant mustiness that's happening on my skin, and I don't really enjoy it. Too bad! I bet this amazing on different skin.

Feed Me and Fill Me ought to have been a slam dunk on me, based on the notes. But it turns out there's still patchouli I find unsettling: the big black variety. Dark and earthy and a little bitter wet, and the honey and vanilla amber were fighting a losing battle at first. I wasn't sure. Eventually it settled into something very wearable, but I still wasn't sure. It wasn't until I tested my decant of East African black patchouli SN then retested Feed Me that I really got this scent. After experiencing the patchouli raw and unadulterated, and learning to love it, it kind of unlocked this scent for me. It's deep, rich, sweet, and beautiful, and it doesn't last nearly as long as I would like it to (which would be all day and then some...)

i threw this on this morning without remembering all the notes, which is sometimes  a fun test to see how edumacated my sniffer is.

goes on with Big Patchouli Energy.  lots of sticky, almost cloying honey. the patchouli is woodsy but not cedary, kind of moist and meaty.  i tentatively guessed tobacco, but nope there's no tobacco, i see now, just a very full-bodied patch.

calms down pretty quickly, and i felt something sweet, a little creamy,  and maybe foodie propping it up.  surprised to find it's just vanilla amber.  definitely getting the vanilla, but usually amber loves me and i'm shocked that i couldn't pick it out.

after everything settles into place, i get a goblin -coconut +honey vibe.

there's nothing super unique here, but i love it big time.  every single note falls squarely in my wheelhouse, and it's a very *me* perfume.  i could happily wear this every day.  i was only able to acquire a partial bottle, but i'll probably snap up every bottle i see for sale, because i can see myself reaching for this on the reg.

I had this in my "maybe swaps" box from long ago, and when I looked at the notes, I thought, but why? Why would I swap this, as it's full of notes I love? I must try again because maybe this is a mistake. Black patchouli can sometimes be a bit much, though in the right blend it's fantastic on me. And honey, vanilla, and amber? YES PLEASE.

I tested Banshee Beat on the other arm, given all the comparisons to it. Maybe I shouldn't because Banshee Beat is super strong on me and FMAFMWP is light on me, so the throw from a little drop of Banshee Beat is occasionally interfering with my nose.

I don't get much patchouli at all, mostly the vanilla amber and honey, and it's like if Banshee Beat and O had a baby who grew up to be sexy. Less patchouli than Banshee Beat, and less sweet than O.

KEEPING. And I've resolved to keep only scents I truly love.
