Snow Glass Apples v4

Recommended Posts

Wow...thought someone else would be first, so here goes...

Wet in the bottle: Yep...yummy apples. Reminds me of how Poisoned Apple smells in the bottle.

On Skin: Ooh...very tart green apple. Does smell like a softer version of the original SG&A. A little floral-y but not as strong as the original either.

Drydown: Moderate throw...lighter version to me than original. Apple-y but not in an over-the-top sweet fruit scent. Is less "snowy" too. It is nice, but not sure it is for me. Have to let it settle maybe! :)

ITB: I'm at a disadvantage here since I never smelled the original limited run of Snow Glass Apples, so I won't be able to compare. However, unto itself, the scent features crisp and slightly tart apples with the Lab's snowy undertones.

Wet: The apple note is now bright and crunchy on my skin while still remaining slightly bitter. The snow is soft and haunting underneath and it seems to be enhanced with just a dab of mint.

Dry: After several hours, the snow has seemingly dissipated and been replaced with a soft musk, which surrounds and cradles the now fainter apple note.

Very bright apple note. So far the throw has been intense and the lasting power is up there with some of the best. The "snow" note here is a little pinesoly. It is super wintery in that way. Think of some Nuclear winter, that kind of thing that was not present in the release version.

Will add more as it dries down!

Note: I have not tried the released version, so I cannot compare the two.

In the bottle, it's definitely a tart green apple with a snow note.

The apple and the minty snow note are very prominent on my skin when first applied. The apple is sweeter when it is wet on my skin than it is when it is dry.

Later: The apple is crisp, tart, and there is a bitter undertone. It's as if the skin of the apple is present in the scent.

Drydown: The apple and minty snow notes are still present, but they are a lot softer. The musk is the most prominent note now, with the other notes residing in the background. I would say the musk is the strongest, then the snow, and then the bitter apple. However, that really varies -- the scent I'm getting from the crook of my elbows (which is a lot stronger) is not the same scent I am getting from my wrists. Curiouser and curiouser!

I think I actually prefer the wet phase to the drydown.

I love apples, and I love snow notes, so I am glad that I have a bottle of this. While it is not one of my favorite BPAL apple scents (I think that is mainly due to the fact that it's green apple instead of some other apple variety, and it is somewhat bitter), I'll definitely hold onto my bottle.

I got out my bottle of released SGA to compare them side by side. :)

In the bottle, the prototype is more strongly apply and less snowy.

On, I find the apple note in the released version very light, and the scent has a clean, soft white musk to it with the snow note prominent.

The apple in the proto version is sweeter and hangs around longer on my skin, and the snow note has a bit more of an evergreen aspect to it.

For me, the difference is that the released version's apple is lighter and tarter, and the musk is more prominent in drydown. The prototype has a stronger, sweeter apple note, and the particular snow note used is a bit different to my nose, less ozone, more pine. I think I actually like the prototype slightly better, but I love the released version as well, and I'm glad I have a bottle of both.

Stronger, tarter green apple, more piney snow, and a whiff of ozone musk.

I think I prefer the released version of SGA better but this is very close to the released version.
