LizziesLuck Report post Posted January 23, 2016 Cardamom tea, orange peel, mate, oakmoss, tonka bean, sweet cedar, and costus. This has cardamom in it, so I needed to try it. Wet: Wow! Interesting. I smell the cardamom for sure. Some orange and cedar. Something sharply floral too, the costus I guess. The sharpness is fading, and the tea is coming forward. Dry: Lightly floral, citrusy cardamom tea. A beautiful combo. Different than other tea scents I have. It's also rare I get to wear anything orangey - orange is super iffy on me, but I have noticed that often when it does work is when it's listed as zest, peel, or rind. This will be beautiful in warmer months, a really lovely scent. I'll admit the drydown doesn't make me go "wow!" the way it does when wet, but I like it enough to keep my bottle. Lucchesa Report post Posted December 30, 2019 The dominant note for me in Southern Cloudywing is mate. This may be the first BPAL I've tried with this note, and it's quite realistic. As it dries down I get orange zest and tonka but I'm not getting much cardamom and my skin tends to devour the tea note. It really seems to be a mate blend. Interesting but not quite my thing. biggnerd Report post Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) This is a cardamom mate tea with an herbal undernote. It's very soothing. ETA: It reminds me of drinking my favorite coffee shop's chai mate. puellacaerulea Report post Posted July 4, 2022 Both in the bottle and on my skin, the cardamom, mate, and orange peel are working together in a way that makes me think of orange marmalade -- sweet and citrusy, but with a bitter, rind-y undertone.
