kitsch Report post Posted October 25, 2014 I have been looking everywhere for a scent that smells like a rocky New England beach on a total crap, rainy day. That wet, salty, tangy smell. I could very well stick my head outside and get that basically every day for the next month a half, but I want to smell like that ALL THE TIME. All day, 'erry day. Any recommendations? Haltija Report post Posted October 25, 2014 I have been looking everywhere for a scent that smells like a rocky New England beach on a total crap, rainy day. That wet, salty, tangy smell. I could very well stick my head outside and get that basically every day for the next month a half, but I want to smell like that ALL THE TIME. All day, 'erry day. Here are some of my recommendations The Deep Ones- Black algae, drooping seaweed, salty brine, and crushed coral. Calico Jack- Sea air, driftwood, waterlogged kelp, and the memory of plundered spices sprayed over worn leathers, rough musk, and the salty wooden floorboards of the Revenge. Cthulhu- A creeping, wet, slithering scent, dripping with seaweed, oceanic plants and dark, unfathomable waters. Windward Passage- Breezes blowing off of the waters of the Caribbean: marine accord, seaweed, and bladderwrack. Octopus- Pale moss, white kelp, sea buckthorn berry, ambergris accord, somalian frankincense, rose geranium and salt. Share this post Link to post
kitsch Report post Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks Haltija! I was scoping out Cthulhu. I'm definitely going to look into the others. The Deep Ones sounds pretty right up my alley, too! Share this post Link to post
Monster Report post Posted October 25, 2014 Hey Kitsch! I'm originally from the Plymouth, MA area and I know the exact scent you're describing! If you can find it, The Final Darkness smells just like a cold, dark ocean to my nose. Smoky Moon 2009 has a foggy has feel with hints of pine. I think paired together you'd get the exact effect you're looking for. The Final Darkness -The sun turns black, earth sinks in the sea: black amber and shimmering moonflower blackened by opoponax, khus attar, smoked oudh, and myrrh and all swallowed by the fathomless depths of a lightless ocean. Smoky Moon 2009 - Soft sandalwood, nicotiana, and velvety orris drifting over lustrous pale musks, stephanotis, elemi, and cyclamen. Share this post Link to post
