Gale Report post Posted December 17, 2015 This the first of the pies I'm trying! In the bottle and on wet: Sweet, syrupy blueberries, with a slight vanilla note. Yum! Dry: The blueberries are going strong, a golden bakery note emerges, the cream note has faded. After 6 hours: Sweet blueberries with a faint, creamy top note. The cream note is not at all strong on me--this one is all about the berries. These aren't fresh berries mind you, they're pie filling! Throw is medium, and this is lasting a good, long time with only moderate slathering. Love it!!
VioletChaos Report post Posted December 18, 2015 In The Bottle: Sweet blueberry syrup. Wet On Skin: How odd! The blueberry is so rich that it almost starts to smell like black licorice. Dry Down: Ah- THERE it is! The blueberry has dried down to pie filling for sure! This isn't fresh, like Crawdad Dream. This is definitely canned pie filling, plus a little flaky crust tossed in for good measure. I don't really get the cream note, which is a bit sad, but this scent is almost like a companion to Crumpet Rebellion, in the combination of bakery scent and fruit. Just lovely! doomsday_disco Report post Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) In the bottle: Syrupy, sweet blueberry pie filling. The cream note is present, but it's mostly just the blueberry pie filling note. I'm not getting any pie crust from this. Wet: The blueberry pie filling reigns, but I'm getting more of the cream note on my skin than I was in the bottle (thankfully). The scent in the bottle made me think this fruity pie scent might be too intense for me, but it's not. After a bit, the blueberry note warms up, and it starts to smell more pie-like. Dry: This is still predominantly blueberry pie filling. The cream is still present, but it isn't as strong as I was hoping it would be. There is just a hint of crust. Verdict: Aww, I was really hoping to get a lot of cream from this one. I don't dislike it, but I am not very fond of berry scents, and because there wasn't enough cream in this for me, I can't see myself reaching for it very often. I may end up trying to swap this one for a different pie. Edited December 27, 2015 by dementia_divine
cherrycherry Report post Posted December 30, 2015 Gosh, the blueberry note in this is to die for. It works so well with the cream. I've never eaten real blueberry cream pie, but if it's anything like this perfume I can imagine it's the most delicious dessert in all the world. This reminds me of Bones Trombone, but it's sweeter and softer and much more fruity. It's more blueberry cream than pie crust, but that's just fine
jensdays Report post Posted January 4, 2016 Wow - I have the opposite reaction with this from everyone else apparently. Interesting. Wet I get a similar blueberry from blueberry lollipops, with a lot of pie crust. Nothing I’d specifically identify as cream, but it’s definitely not a pure blueberry scent. What I get from the air as opposed to nose-to-wrist are two different scents - in the air is much more blueberry pie, on my skin it’s a little plasticky, and much more crust than fruit. Doesn’t last overly long, less than 4 hours and I can’t really smell it at all. I don’t strictly dislike it, but it’s not what I was hoping for either. TrailerTrashPrincess Report post Posted January 6, 2016 i don't care for fresh blueberries. they're ok, i'll happily nom them if they're given to me but i won't buy them. i haven't ever had blueberry cream pie, or any kind of blueberry pie. i do like blueberry muffins! i fondly remember making them (from a box) when i was little, and the little shiny can of blueberry goo that smelled so good! that "cream" note scares me because all too often it goes to that palm-oil note that smells too much like coconut and means i can't do it. sniffed from the bottle, this reminds me of that can of blueberry goo. super thick and concentrated since it was meant to be stirred into the muffin batter. on skin, it quickly goes straight to Otis Spunkmeyer Wild Blueberry Muffin. y'know, the gigantic, individually wrapped ones in convenience stores and gas stations? i don't care how terrible-for-you they are, those things are amazing. and now they are bottled! astarinel Report post Posted January 6, 2016 A blast of delicious, sweet-tart blueberries. This is the strongest blueberry note I think I've smelled while it's wet. It fades a little into the cream as it dries, and it balances a bit with the buttery pastry crust. I agree that it reminds me of the blueberry note in Bones Trombone, and not the one in Blue Phoenix or Crawdad Dream, which are fresher blueberries. This is definitely a baked goods, sweetened blueberry. It's sweet and tasty with decent staying power, and I'm always happy to see more blueberry perfumes! LizziesLuck Report post Posted January 12, 2016 I should start off by saying, when I got a decant of this, it was on a whim. I knew I did not want to smell like blueberry pie. Don't ask me why. I love gourmand scents. I just knew I would never wear this, but really wanted to try it. Wet: This smells so freakin good. The crust note is to die for, as is the cream note. The blueberries are unfortunately a little artificial smelling on me. Dry: Not much of a morpher on me, except the blueberry note turns even more plastic. I was right about not wanting to smell like this, however it is way better than I expected, and I am glad I got to try it!
zankoku_zen Report post Posted January 18, 2016 Oh man! This smells amazing. Sweet, syrupy blueberries, golden crust, and a dollop of whipped cream. I don't typically like gourmand blends but so far this one has been the most impressive pie perfume I've tested so far. If you have ever wished to smell like you're smeared in pie, this is the perfume for you.
Dark Alice Report post Posted January 22, 2016 Sweet blueberries in syrup, cool whip cream, with a hint of crust. It is so light and lovely. I may need a bottle of this b/c the cream does not go funky on me. So delicious.
sunlitgarden Report post Posted January 30, 2016 In the bottle: Wow! This is yummy! Despite the name, my first impression is a blueberry muffin or scone - sweet, cooked blueberries and a pastry note. On my skin: I didn't really get a crust note in Peach Pie, but I definitely get it here - buttery flaky goodness along with the blueberry. When I first tested this scent about a month ago, it kind of reminded me of blueberry yogurt (though not in a bad way). I'm assuming that was the cream note. It's interesting how much scents can change even in just a month, because it's not reminding me of that now. I have Blueberry Cream Pie on one arm and Peach Pie on the other, and I'm smelling the same sort of pie-spice blend in both of them. To be honest, I prefer the bottle scent to the skin scent - it's much more juicy and edible-smelling. The scent on my arm is more syrupy, cooked, and spiced. But it still smells good, and I'm not getting any sourness from the cream, which is always good! The cream is just adding kind of a "richness" to it, which I think is what it's supposed to be like. agirlnamedfury Report post Posted March 15, 2016 Vanilla and blueberries. This has the most buttery "crust" note of any of the pie scents from this set that I've tried, which is nice.
Little Bird Report post Posted March 30, 2016 I don't smell any cream or vanilla from this, and the blueberry is a very syrupy, candied one. Blueberry hard candy and a cinnamon-buttery pie crust. Kind of cloying and the spices are a little sharp on my skin.
fullforcegalesburg Report post Posted April 25, 2016 First sniff: Heavy, innky, syrupy blueberry. It reminds me of a blueberry lollipop, kind of artificial, with just a hint of buttery crust. Wet on skin: There we go! The artificial edge of this is gone, replaced with cooked blueberries and syrup. The sillage is pure blueberry, but sniffing closer to my wrist gives off a whiff of crust as well. It reminds me of the tinned blueberries that come with muffin mixes, syrupy and purple. Drydown: Blueberry syrup and buttery crumbs. There’s not a whole lot of crust in this, but it’s more noticeable now than it was on wet application. I love the juicy berry, and blueberry is a scent I don’t have very much of, so this fills a nice spot in my collection! Final thoughts: I don’t get very much cream from this supposedly cream pie, but I’m not heartbroken that I don’t. Good blueberry scents are rare and this one is very good, not artificial at all. chrisann Report post Posted May 27, 2016 Blueberry Cream Pie starts out in a blast of freshly syruped blueberries. As it wears, I get more depth from pie spices. If this were a color it would be purple merlot. It's berries blossoming all over my skin. Heady, amost blueberry wine. I get zero cream and crust. It's not a super foody scent on my skin. I layered this with Stekkjarstaur and it added a nice toasty vanilla warmth. Blueberry's in custard. Nom. I can see this as being nicely layered with plum/wine scents to amp up the "inkyness" great with other foody scents. Not sure if I'm a blueberry kind of gal, but I enjoyed trying something out of my comfort zone. While I liked it, not sure if it's a keeper. If you're a fan of plum/wine notes. I highly recommend this to you. It's in that same scental vein.
patina Report post Posted March 2, 2018 Testing this one, I get real blueberries, but canned blueberries in syrup. The crust smells like gram cracker crust to me, but that may just be me. I do get cream, not much, but it's really there. It doesn't go sour like milk sometimes does on my skin. Overall this is inky, sweet and glorious, but it tends to be faint and quickly fading. donkehpoo Report post Posted March 30, 2018 (edited) Wet: Syrupy blueberries! A liiiiittle bit of pie crust in the background.Dry: Very similar to the wet stage. Some of the syrupy quality has worn off, and I’m not getting any type of “cream” note. That being said, I’m a sucker for blueberry scents, and this is quite nice! fairybites Report post Posted December 19, 2020 This is the first pie I've tried and it is beautiful. Immediately get the blueberries and the pie crust starts to appear with drying. Definitely agree with the others that the blueberry note resembles blueberry syrup. My only complaint is that, much like Lán Yuèliàng, the blueberry note is the quickest to fade. It's still there for a few hours but I wish it lasted a little longer like the crust. Will have to keep my eyes peeled for a bottle of this or try the hair gloss version. This is a dream for blueberry lovers!
