BPAL Madness!

Recommended Posts

Blush amber, wild carnation, French lavender, hay absolute, strawberry candyfloss, and vanilla cream.

Round Dance is very much like my beloved Alice, except she's frolicking in the hay with a big basket sugared berries. I get a bunch of herbal lavender notes up front that dry down creamy, carnation goodness. It's warm like flowers in the sunshine, pink and girly yet sexy. Sweet, spicy, creamy carnation, amber drydown, this dance is made of ruffles, white cakes and pink, spicy blossoms whirling around in the haymeadow

Round Dance is lovely, sunshiny, candy-sweet, and awfully innocent for a Luper. I get recognizable lavender only when it's wet, and the carnation is subtle, not the big spicy carnation of, say, Alice or Maiden, but I'm not a big floral fan (though I love spicy carnation) so that's just fine by me. The amber is warm and creamy; the strawberry is more candy than a realistic berry note. The only reason I'm not currently searching the sales page for a bottle of this is that the cream note, as occasionally happens, goes just slightly off on my skin. Not enough to ruin the scent, but enough to bar it from perfection.

This scent conjures up young women in calico sundresses frolicking at the county fair of 1920 or earlier. No tilt-a-whirl, just wildflowers and sunshine, jams and pies and prize heifers.

The combination of the notes in Round Dance somehow smells like mild, tasty chocolate on me. I can pick out the individual threads of hay, Amber, strawberry, vanilla cream, & carnation if I concentrate. The lavender seems to be missing for me (bummer!), but the overall effect is quite yummy and well-blended. Started out a bit perfumey, but so smooth after a couple hours. I took a nap and was surprised to smell the scent still wafting about once I got up! Yay :) I’m gonna enjoy my decant, for sure. I’d consider a swap for a bottle, too! *flounces off, prettily*

compared to Rainbow Swirl (Lavender-infused vanilla cream with crystalline flowers and a hint of red velvet cake.), Round Dance’s lavender note is prominent on skin and the strawberry note less present (which is comical since Rainbow Swirl doesnt list strawberry in its profile!). on application there is an initial carnation burst that is very peppery. I really love carnation in this aspect- I enjoy the spiciness of it. Overtime the pepperiness of the carnation recedes slightly and the lavender which is initially herbal begins to blend with the amber note And the vanilla cream. This makes for a pillow soft lavender, not unlike Capax Infiniti however that is the only resemblance to that worthy blend.   While the candy floss note is it easily identifiable here giving the overall blend a sugary floral aspect, the strawberry it’s self is slight. Maybe lending a teensy bit of tartness to the overall Perfumes palette. On dry this is a flourmand lavender with a touch of berry that is not plastic on my skin. The carnation begins to feel minty, similar to how the mint and Berry notes combined in Battle Fairy in Training. I think fans of the latter would enjoy this one.

Strawberry and amber are the first notes that leap out at me, then the hay and lavender join in, and after that, the spicy carnation. The amber is going somewhat powdery on me here with the hay. Then it goes into this odd phase where it smells a little burnt on me, and maybe that's what my skin is doing with the strawberry candyfloss combining with another note? Or my skin not liking the strawberry? But that odd phase goes away, and it settles down into a powdery amber and hay tinged with a bit of spicy carnation and strawberry.

This scent ended up being too powdery on me, but it was nice to get to try it.
