Black patchouli, obsidian, and oudh.

This is definitely dominated by the black patchouli on me, but it's not an especially gnarly patch - just very earthy and grounding. I don't get a whole lot of oudh but I'm hoping it comes out more with a little ageing, and as for the obsidian - I confess, I'm not entirely sure what that could be. I'm not smelling anything like a stone or glass note, but it might be a type of musk. Not black musk... something a little softer. In fact, the whole thing is softer than the notes might lead you to believe.

All in all this is pretty much what I was hoping it would be so I'm very glad I bought a bottle. If you're a patchouli lover, you won't be disappointed.

Lots of dark, woody patchouli like in Pognophobia and Of the Unicorn. There is something dark and cool in this though that has to be the "obsidian." It lends complexity and a cologney edge that makes the patch rather intriguing. I'd consider this gender neutral leaning towards masculine. I bet it will age marvelously.

This starts off Patchouli but a slightly more sophisticated one , but changes to a sort of sparkly thing that I can't put my inexorable finger on but is gorgeous. I have gotten compliments on this, it's just amazing

Yup, black patchouli and then there is a burned meat scent that dies off...dry this is nice and kind of sparkly? Very masculine. Very nice.

Patchouli and oudh. This one smells clean, masculine, and well, the overall impression I tend to get is of gleaming black leather - that doesn't smell like leather. But maybe a leather paddle? Yeah, that's probably more accurate. Medium throw and wear length.

This is the Patchouli I have been searching for. Maybe because the make up of the blend is so simple. I only have a decant but it is the first time in a long time that I have been compelled to use one decant over and over for days. If you are a patchouli connoisseur, do try this one out. It is neutral to masculine but it is lovely. I will have to look for a partial or full bottle.

The Inexorable Finger is for those of us who love patchouli. This is a camphorous patch, earthy and real, followed by tangy oudh (always smells a bit like band-aids + wood to me), buffed to glisten and shine like obsidian. Seriously, if there was such a thing as a black patchouli stone, it would smell like this.

On me, I got a lot of patchouli and it went sweeter than it smelled in the bottle. On my husband, an almost cedar-like note came out and it was less sweet. Smells good on the whole family!

Welp, that is some patchouli. Gnarly brown and wooden but somehow smooth as well. The oudh is breathtakingly dry, like dark dirt landscape that hasn't seen rain in fifteen years covered with cracks dry. I don't get much obsidian, but it's there somewhere, probably smoothing out the patchouli.

Edit: The oude is very sophisticated here and I keep wanting to wear this.

This is pretty much as advertised.

First thing I notice is that the patchouli is the dry and woody kind.

The patchouli is slightly more dominant than the oudh. Together they remind me of Tricksey without the honey sweetness.

There is, as others have described, something smooth and dark in this blend that I attribute to the obsidian note.

Very pleased with this one.

Patchouli, and it's a kind of woody, sharp, reminiscent of body odor variety, which I usually don't get from black patchouli. I do get a hint of the black, trampled, damp earth that reminds me of black patchouli, so maybe it's actually the oudh that is turning funky on my skin. Dry wood, dirt covered roots, and a sweaty man's sour body odor scent...

ugh, man. This is exactly what I wanted it to be!

in the bottle all i get is patchouli and something sort of boozy. so far, i'm here for this.

Wet, when applied, the oudh definitely comes out. its not as "oudh-y" as I anticipated; I think it's tempered by whatever "obsidian" happens to be, which reads to me a lot like the lab's wet stone note. like this and Night's Bridge are distant cousins? This feels atmospheric to me, and the color i get is pewter/tarnished silver. It's a really sexy and mysterious scent, and there is something that's a bit leather-like about it. But not like a jacket- like leather gloves.

I'll definitely be wearing this, and I'm happy to have picked up a bottle!

Just received this from the Etsy store, so it’s new but aged I’m guessing ~

it’s really super dark, which is what I wanted.  Like pitch black soil~ this is basically what I tend to envision soil smelling like in scents, rather than the more ethereal mildewy top notes soil can have.

the blackest patchouli, very smooth.

as it wears it starts to get a tang of sourness in there for me, similar to what dark tobacco scents can do on my skin.

but that starts to thankfully fade away as it starts to get what I can only describe as this glassy black smoothness to it.  It makes it go from fecund and dark to oddly juicy in a weird liminal black glassy void way.

im so glad the sour part went away. It only lasted about five - ten minutes as it settled on my skin.

Ugh it’s so good wtf issss thissssss.  😂

So glad I decided to pick it up.

edit: the sour-ey thing does return a bit later on me, but it’s got more of like almost a motor oil kind of finish to it and it’s more subtle, so it’s not bad. I think this will just continue to fluctuate on my skin throughout the wear time as scents like this can be wont to do.
