Looking for recommendations for a scent based on Sin with other criteria

Hi everyone,

 

I've been away from bpal for a long time (years!) except to re-order my go to scent, Sin. I'm feeling very overwhelmed by everything new and I hope I'm posting this in the right place! The forum searches aren't really letting me search for Sin, (Is there a trick I'm missing?)

 

I'm about to place another order for Sin, and have a friend who is obsessed with how it smells on me but doesn't want to buy the exact same scent.

 

So my question is, what would you recommend as a scent that has the same notes as Sin? When I asked her what scents she liked, she said: of woods (oaks, sandalwood), white flowers (roses, lilies).... she also likes witchy scents.

 

I defer to the knowledge of this forum for any recommendations!

You just have to click on the bpal.org link, and not The Lab's link.

 

I would say Scherezade is similar, but more musky. Perhaps Belle Vinu or Black Lotus.

You can also just search for notes in the searchbar at the top of The Lab's website. You'll get a pretty good list if you search for sandalwood.

Sometimes three-letter searches weird out the search engine -- I've had the same problem searching for Hod.

 

Are you looking to buy a few imps rather than take a chance on a bottle? I really like trying things out before buying a bottle, and the lab does 6 for $22 and of course throws in a couple of frimps as well. If your friend likes the cinnamon spiciness of Sin in addition to the sandalwood (I get a lot of cinnamon from Sin, without skin irritation), Plunder might be a good choice. Defututa has the smoky spicy feeling I get from Sin with more flowers. I think Fallen is really beautiful, despite the fact that vetiver is not usually a good note on me. I haven't tried the Little Wooden Doll, but it has rose with amber and sandalwood instead of the patchouli and cinnamon of Sin. Rakshasa is lovely -- rose, sandalwood and patchouli, no amber or cinnamon. Another really beautiful soft sandalwood and amber blend is Vasilissa, which on my skin reads like a white floral. I haven't tried Scherezade but Belle Vinu is very different from Sin on me -- a fruity vanilla sandalwood. Marvelous, just different.
