Dark Alice Report post Posted July 2, 2018 Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. Blood musk and ashes. This is unusual. It is a very subtle blood musk. But not a lot of ash. More like warmth, burning paper before it completely snuffs out. Ash smells smoky, this doesn't. It's so subtle and beautiful. Letting it settle helped a bit. So now I am going to keep this bottle. I have a feeling that this will just get better with time! kscha2017 Report post Posted July 3, 2018 Beautiful. First sniff brought strong vibes of Halloween. More sniffs made me think there is something that I have in the Carnival Diabolique collection that this reminds me of. The blood musk is strong, with (to my nose) a sweet incense quality to the ashes, along the lines of Midnight Mass.
Pixie-elf Report post Posted July 15, 2018 Blood musk, and smoke. If you've read the Wheel of Time, you've heard the curse "Blood and Ashes!" and this is what it'd smell like. It lasts, and lasts. The blood musk almost has the smut note to it, if you've never smelled it, but not quite. It's deeper, more primal. Gorgeous. The incensey smoke and ashes are gentle, giving it a lovely depth that is fantastic. Gender neutral, but it smells fantastic on Nate. His coworker got a whiff of him the next day (another dide) and told him how good he smelled. So he explained Bpal. :
Lucchesa Report post Posted July 24, 2018 I can't usually wear red musk, but I've had some success with blood musk. Blood musk is more apt to share the stage with other notes, which is especially crucial when there are only two notes. And the blood musk and ashes are in perfect balance here. Ezekiel 16:49 is a very somber scent, and utterly unisex; for the first couple of hours I get no sweetness at all, then it starts to soften a bit, but it is still dark. Gray ash, coppery blood -- this really isn't like any other scent I can think of, and it's beautiful. Not much throw on me (typical) but good wear length. donkehpoo Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Wet: Well. I think my nose is broken. This is smelling like musky cedar? Is there cedar in here? Dry: Yep. I don't know why, but there's something in here that's reading as cedar to my nose. Since cedar is one of my least favorite notes, ever, this just isn't working for me. zankoku_zen Report post Posted September 5, 2018 Blood musk, deep and tangy, and smoky ashes. This smells like it would be a great Halloween cosplay or Vampire cosplay scent. Or actually, also a werewolf. Creepy, beautiful, and bloody. Medium throw and wear length.
Casablanca Report post Posted September 25, 2018 Oof! A sort of red fruity-floral-metallic musk. With a side of ashy smoke. Yup. Pretty much that. A musk with red fruits and flowers and coppery metal is how I experience "blood musk." This went muted on me quickly, which is OK. Fun to test, but not my thing. VetchVesper Report post Posted June 5, 2020 I like smoky scents. I like red musk and all its cousins. That's said, I don't like Ezekiel 16:49. The strongest note I get is one I associate with a tobacco note I don't care for. (I like most tobacco notes.) Maybe it's actually an ash note? Anywho, this smells like Hearth and Snaky Hair'd Moirai, so if you like those, give this a whirl. The blood musk is there, ala Bloodlust, but it's behind the ill favored tobacco. Not for me. Lecter Report post Posted September 7, 2022 Musky, and wearable for all genders. Deep smoky scent, not too much throw and sadly doesn’t last too long on me
Poenari Report post Posted July 1, 2023 Initially I get frankincense! That's often how ash/smoke notes can smell on me, and I always amp frankincense when it's a listed note. I'm guessing that it makes up part of the ash note. Then blood musk, yay! This is actually a softer scent than I would have expected from the notes, but that makes it more wearable in a wider variety of situations. This is a lovely smoky musk blend. Happy I was gifted my bottle from a friend!
Juushika Report post Posted August 26 In the bottle, red and wet, dragons blood resin without the fruity/sweet overtones. On the skin, it gets a harsh burst of dry vetiver that swiftly dies down to a soft, gray, wispy smoke and ashes grounded by a gentle blood musk, not animalic but organic, with the barest touch of sweetness. Medium-low throw, subtle, desaturated, gently ominous. I adore this and it's in my regular rotation as my go-to blood scent.
