zankoku_zen Report post Posted October 31, 2018 But to the chamber which lies most westwardly of the seven, there are now none of the maskers who venture; for the night is waning away; and there flows a ruddier light through the blood-colored panes; and the blackness of the sable drapery appals; and to him whose foot falls upon the sable carpet, there comes from the near clock of ebony a muffled peal more solemnly emphatic than any which reaches their ears who indulge in the more remote gaieties of the other apartments. But these other apartments were densely crowded, and in them beat feverishly the heart of life. Night-blooming jasmine and cereus reflected through ruddy musk and crimson amber. Jasmine, musk, and a whiff of amber. This one is a floral jasmine, with heavy red musk. It smells like dusty velvet jasmine. Medium throw and wear length. milo Report post Posted January 24, 2019 At first, I'm getting something that smells like vetiver, so not sure what that would be. It smells like a dark fruit blend with a kick, along with the Night-Blooming jasmine (which is why I wanted to try out this blend in the first place). This reminds me of some of the labs dark, velvety blends, like Crimson, Blood Popsicle, The Velvets, etc. I didn't like it at first, but once the jasmine came out, it was a win. I rarely wear the dark blends I have, so the decant will suffice.
starbrow Report post Posted July 10, 2020 This is a 3 A.M. jasmine, the dark-night-of-the-soul sister of The Bindle, velvety and softly glowing by moonlight. Something almost blue peeks through - cereus? - but overall this reads deep, dark burgundy, luscious and resiny. I am a red musk fan, and I don't really smell it here. Whether it's too buried under the jasmine to peek through or ruddy musk is truly a different kind, the underlying musk is almost opium-spiced to me. It's sad that jasmine has not been my friend lately, because this is a gorgeous blend and jasmine lovers SHOULD try it!
