A ward against evil: bay rum, whiskey, cigar smoke, black pepper, and salt.

I was scared of this one - salt often goes terribly for me and brings too much ozone. No need!

 

In the bottle: aftershave in a smoky room.

 

On my skin: The bay rum, whiskey, and cigar smoke all contribute to a classic aftershave scent and the black pepper adds just a hint of light spiciness that keeps it from veering into too sweet or too heavy. The salt, as far as I can tell, is absent.

 

On someone else in my house: Baby powder, through and through. (Skin chemistry is so weird.)

As soon as I opened this one, I knew I loved it. I get all the whiskey, smoke and booze and get a distinct salt aspect, but no pepper, oddly. Will be interesting to see if that changes after it ages. This works so well for me, I'm contemplating a second bottle.

Definitely get the bay rum, whiskey and cigar smoke. Spicy and boozy

On the Skin:

Bay rum is prominent to start with but not harsh, tempered by the other notes. There is a distinct saltiness as this dries down further. The cigar smoke note is not a charred smoke scent but the fragrant tobacco of a cigar with just a tinge of singe.

On the Drydown:

Everything blends so well together but can still pick out elements. The black pepper rears it's head well into the drydown but never overpowers. This is a beauty. Dark but elegantly so

I ordered this on a whim, and I am glad I did! This reminds me a lot of Possets Sex with the Spirits, but without the cake. It evokes a feeling of warmth, the kind of feeling I get when I’m snuggled with my cats under a blanket with the lights down low and a mug of hot tea by my side. A comforting scent.

Blue Ghost Blues was really strong on me at first, particularly the bay rum (bay sometimes amps on me).  I often have a hard time picking out the pepper note, but I think it added to the initial sharpness of this on my skin.  My first impression was very masculine, a sharp-dressed man in a fedora who'd just applied after shave and lit a cigar.  It does soften into something pretty darned comfortable, though decidedly leaning towards the masculine end of the unisex spectrum.  Good throw when wet, but wear length was only 3-4 hours on me.
